That's a nice truck, but where do you put the grass??

Usually I dump onsite.. if I need to haul mulch, dirt, clippings, etc. I use my pickup and open trailer.

Those trimmer hooks did you make them or buy them? I need something like that so I can hang my trimmers in the garage.

Actually those came from Kmart.. and somehow they haven't ever fallen off, even in transport. (knock on wood)

Way to go on the trimmer setup!! You saved yourself $600 on trimmer racks.

How many miles? What do you have in the truck moneywise?

What is your mpg? My '99 npr box truck gets about 12.

I have got to get some racks for my gas cans... I looked in the back of the truck when the guys drove down the drive yesterday... and there was the gas can sitting on its side.

Do you work just in Athens? do you get down to oconee or over toward north atlanta any? It seems like Oconee would be the jackpot... such an upscale area... and most I would guess or secondary homes... so not many pitas.

Yeah Oconee is exploding with growth.. we work Athens and Oconee mainly.. used to work in Braselton (Chateau Elan) but the drive was too far.

I get about the same mpg.. average between 10-14.
I have a feeling fuel is going to be an issue this summer  already on the rise again.

no stihl trimmers... only redmax

oh yea, stihl is the best.

After having low end machines for a long time, was time to upgrade to something that would last a long time being worked hard. And I have never used anything better then my stihls yet and never had anything that was so easy to work on and fix. Have also had john deere before- very easy to work on and fix. Cant beat johgn deere and stihl. Redmax is also very good, jujst dont know too much about them

Awesume saw man and edgers. If its not a stihl its not a saw, lol.

Hey thanks for the pics looks good. I am stting up my box truck today and I just bought those hooks you have at Lowes, Do you have a prob with them coming off the hooks while driving or do you have a bungee to hold them. Thanks.

Heres mine, the hooks work great with the trimmers and blowers. I painted the walls and built the shelf and hung the hooks. I am looking into one of those gas caddys for the mix. Thanks For the ideas.

Hey man looks great! ..glad the pics helped.

I have been using these hooks for about a year now without any bungees.

Strangely enough they ride safe and sound.. never had one fall off luckily (*knock on wood*)

The only reason I'm thinking of getting horizontal racks now is because I need more floor space because I bought a bigger mower and my shelving takes up room on the right in my truck.

I like your setup.. good luck this season!

I see that one of your mowers is a walker. What do you do with grass clippings that you have to haul away, or do you have accounts that you can dump at? Just curious, that seems to be one of the biggest reasons that I stay with the dumps.

We almost always dump clippings onsite..
when we need to carry them , we tarp them and put them on the dovetail for transport.

what kind of head is that on your trimmers???....Is it like the echo rapid loader?

lawntimenosee
05-31-2007, 07:46 PM
Yea it's similar.. I always have dealer trade out the bump heads for these commercial metal heads whenever I purchase a new trimmer..
they work great, and there is no limit to what size string is used.

We keep a pocket full of pre-cut strings at all times.. my wife finds them scattered around the house alot in random places.. lol

Mine are holding up. I just bought an isuzu frr... it is pretty sweet. It has 19.5 gvrw, air assisted brakes, 6-speed(cruise at 85!), 7.8L 6cyl, and it gets 12mpg. These Isuzu trucks are hard to beat.

Is that a 16ft box? Makes that exmark look tiny all the way up front there. I am looking at a 12ft box right now.
