Do Lawn Equipment dealers take used trimmer, blowers, etc.. in on trade or just used mowers?

Depends a lot on the dealer. Mine will take chainsaws and blowers, and MAYBE a very good condition trimmer if it's the brand they sell, but I gurantee you would get more for it, it you just sold it outright.
