I just bought a new lazer HP and I am curious if I can put a hitch kit on it and pull a 4" X 4" drag harrow with it or will this cause too much heat / stress on the drive system?

Thanks,

Jeff

Hello Jeff,
There are many factors to take into consideration. Terrain, tire dia., and duty cycle, etc. The limiting factor is system heat. The recommended max. draw bar pull can be exceeded, but only for a short period of time, or heat will damage the system. Be careful, the HP is a mower not a tractor.

Thanks, I wasn't sure. I knew that the oil capacity was small and it may not have time to dissipate the heat without an externail heat exchanger. BTY the mower is the 19hp 46" cut. I will not risk it.

Thanks again,

Jeff

I mow a park for a local township. They have seven ball fields that we use a drag mat on. It is 4' x 6'. Pulled it with a 52", 23hp. bobcat and a 60",27hp Bad Boy mower. Both did the job with no problems.
