the following is an explaination of a thread from the tell your story forum.
this is an answer to the question "is this for real" everyone thru out this site asks me.

why does everyone think i am joking? have you put my name in the serch an read my old posts? i started Eufualas finest lawn service with a push mower and an escort! i am now Hartzog Lawn Co. i am on the internet. my wife stays at home with my 4 kids. i work my @#$ off and make $50 grand a year before taxes. yes, i pay my taxes too. my others posts sound crazy but they are true. i could sell my life story to a movie producer! i didnt know i was bi-polar. i had EXTREAM energy, like nuclear energy and sometimes i do have a meltdown. i am not a danger to society. just to my cell phone and my truck (it is all dented up from my feet kicking it. it is my punching bag) someday i will show you a photo. not a joke. Today my cell phone suffered death by crushing under truck tires. are you a joke, are you for real? am i talking to myself? anyway, my customers love me, and some of them think of me as their son. i'v gotten $100 tips and christmas bonus' and my kids get candy all the time and this is way better than having a real job. i love to make people happy by making ther yards perfect. any questions? oh by the way i got a vasectamy today. ow ow ow ow

"i started Eufualas finest lawn service with a push mower and an escort!"

Two questions. What is an Eufualas and why do they have an escort service?

The rest is just uncomfortable.

Well, Eufaula is a city in Alabama (I know that because I graduated from Auburn University and went to school with people from the Eufaula area....WAR EAGLE!!:weightlifter: ). As for escort services in Eufaula, I don't know. I've never had to use an escort service! :p

Know any good Alabama jokes?
On kicking your truck, I suggest this, buy a enclosed trailer about an 18 footer V nose, hang a punching bag in the front and go for it, your truck and foot will love you for it!

Not that big a deal. I did it on 30 accounts, solo.

Nice to see you're back David. Will you be posting more? You're averaging .95 posts a month.

while i was thinking how do you make a living off of grossing $50k someone appears to think its great. set your standards higher. you dont work your but oof and deal with the stress and hassles of running a bussiness for the same amount you could make in a simple 8-4 job.

You might need to get on medication, it's a stupid disorder can land you in prison or a mental ward one day, and if you are currently on medication, it's not working.

Going over the edge is no good, because unfortunately an explosive temper is a danger to both yourself and society. If you are out of control they can and will have their way with you, only a matter of time, please seek some counseling in this matter.

 Wow, between my Chemo treatments and low blood counts I still not as bad as this guy, just a little loopy at times. This guy might want to try some yoga or something along those lines:rolleyes:

you can make $50k working a "simple 8-5"?! is this with or without college? the majority of entry level jobs dont get you more than $30k more like $20k-$25k and usally top out around $40k.

personally id be happy making $20k as long as im not working for the man. i love running a business, it runs through my veins. if i have to call it quits in landscaping i will start another kind of biz

Don't feel bad. An LCO that does a lawn next to me was about to kick my A$$ last week when I went over the property by about 6 inches. Thought I was going to have to call the police. I hate to see this guys floor board. Probably covered in plywood to cover all the holes in it.

I get fustrated and angry at times, but the good days out wieght the bad 5 to one.

i have about 70 active year round commercial/residential/industrial and about 20 part time/yearly stuff. and the energy of 10 3-year-olds

i will net less this year, but i am going to pay off both mowers and my truck--if i don't have to replace anything, again. double payments

my meds wore off yesterday.

FORD ESCORT (a red one) i took all but the drivers seat out and bungee corded the hatch.

my dad graduated from auburn. he's a freakin' millionaire and lives in a mansion. he hates that i love mowing grass, but i am a good ol' boy. my wife says if i had a million dollars i'd be like forest gump and cut that grass for free!!

i do get councelling in the winter, which lasts 3 weeks here in alabama.

Anyone who suffers from manic-depression and manages to work and raise a family should be respected , not laughed at. This is a serious disease that can be managed through medication and counselling . David , if you can't make it to counselling , please be sure to take the 'meds' faithfully , get your rest and try to stay on a regular schedule as much as you can. Good luck , guy , I wish you the best.

Good luck , guy , I wish you the best.Yes it is very serious, there was a young father in this area that was being treated with antidepressants when he should have been given Lithium because he was bipolar and not diagnosed correctly. He shot and killed one son less than 10 years of age and wounded the other one which was a little older and blinded him completely in one eye. The father is now in prison for the rest of his life. This man was in upper management for a big company, lived in a high class neighborhood owning a $800,000.00 home. This will tell you how dangerous this disease can be, giving a bipolar person antidepressants can be like throwing gas on a fire.

I know I'm not the bravest here on Lawnsite, more likely the most stupid.
I married a woman, who on the surface had her act together.
Multiple engineering degrees, PhD work plus successfully graduated from medical school and was a real live practicing physician.
Two years into what has proven to be eight years of hell she starts shooting at me, won't work - in fact I found out later was fired, and to top it all of starts abusing my dog.
After she gets tasered out of the house she actually files divorce papers on me.
A year goes by, still separated pending the divorce, out over seventy grand, she still hasn't gone to jail yet for shooting at me and to make a long day worse I see her driving around in MY Jaguar the freakin judge awarded her which I still have to pay for.
So my comment to David, other than sorry about my rant, is go ahead and kick the crap out of your truck - who cares.
Just go home safe at the end of the day, honor your wife and hug your kids.

hey, lets stop talking about killing people and stuff. p.s. i am not allowed to have wepons in the house. my wife took my granddaddy's 22 and has the peices in different parts of the house for safty. she says we'll pass it on as an heirloom someday.

i know my wife feels stupid for marring me, but she is good to me. i love my kids more than life.

i know that i had so many jobs i quit or was fired from. lawncare is the best cause i can go when i have to go and do what i have to do. i told my wife yesterday that everywhere i looked today i saw money growing. just have to go out and pick it up off the ground. i think i like lawn care cause of the color green. she says green makes you calm...yeah, cause green is cash and cash pays bills and buys food and more equipment!

If you have 70 year-round commerical/ residential maintenance accounts you should be grossing way more then 50k a year. There was a time when I was grossing 65k a year off of 25 commerical/residential accounts

I must be bi-polar too. After reading your post the only different from you and me is, I started with a S-10, have 3 kids not 4, taxes not going there, and I got a vasectomy 2 yrs ago...

Not to many dents in my truck. I prefer the sound of glass breaking...Cant tell you how many windows, I have replaced. I go through about 3 cell phones a year too.

i would make more if i was better with my money. i end up spending a lot in labor sometimes and i replace a lot of stuff. i got mad and busted the computer printer with my fist, ran my mower over a fence, the gate on my trailer is always munched up, i replace windows and cell phones---you know expensive buisness stuff that i have to pay for. i just spend a lot. i did just pay off my walker this month and next i will pay of one of my exmarks, i;ll have more money, but i have to replace the other exmarks engine and then i am going to replace my trailer with an enclosed trailer--about 20 footer. i'm going to put a bathroom in it and everything. i;ll just live in it.
