It was 82 in KC yesterday but 50s and low 60s are on there way for a week or so. We have some freezes coming also.

The good news is I already have my tan started ;)

 Just keep it there I don't need anymore delays. It could be worse, we could be in the U.P. It started snowing there yesterday morning.

Out of that 4-8" thats was possible, we got about 4-8 flakes of snow, in my area some of the bigger companies are already out doing clean ups.

Just leaves us more time to do important stuff.
sleep.

I'm just glad I havn't put down the pre-emergent yet.
The stuff I use says not to apply during cold weather.

This is on the label-------

---------------------------

cold weather, excessive moisture, high soil pH, high soil salt
concentration, or drought can weaken turfgrass

and increase the possibility of turf damage from this product.

too early for spring clean ups.....way to muddy around here. We need some warm sunny days!! and way to early for pre-emergents. Just have to continue getting equipment ready and wait.

You have to spread pre-emergents on snow cover in order to get 7 apps in, in Minnesota.

I was checking soil temps all last week, the warmest I saw was 42.

Now with this weather (17 degrees here this morning), with the lawns all snow / ice covered, I'm sure they dropped right back down.

Yeah, I spoke with the Lesco rep he says, do what ya gotta do.

He was saying C.L. has to,
to meet their contracts of 7 apps per season.

They're prolly diluting each of the apps right now, I dunno.

I'm just not going for the seasons biggest call back record myself.

yeh they say the lilacs need to be blooming, or the ground temp needs to be at 55 for about two weeks before we put down crabgrass preventer......hard to be that patient.......and here in mn we have such a short window....goes from snow to chem app time very quickly..

In Arlington, I was on track for spring clean-ups, but the rain and cold weather really crushed the plan for next week.
