1995 Gravley 36 inch Walkbehind????

Hey
We are thinking about buying our first walkbehind tommarrow.
Its a Gravley 36 inch,maybe a 95 or 94 model.
Great shape..been used but not abused.
Got a 14 HP Kohler Command with new recoil and muffler..
Front wheel bearings are new also..
Guy seemed to take care of it..not too much rust..
Hes askin $1400 for it..We want to get it for $1000!
Needs blades and Drive belts, probably deck belts too..

Does any one have any opinion on Gravley???
Using one or know someone who has one?
Is this a good buy?
Is $1000 out of line?

Its not a Toro or a Snapper but it is pretty nice!!

You should be glad its a Gravely! This is a great unit but I think $1,000 is to much $$.

In this area a machine like that would sell for about $750 - $850.
Maybe they bring more down your way, but price sounds pretty high to me.:)

I have a '95 gravely 36. In 6 years the machine has not needed a single repair! All ive ever done was oil changes, finlter changes and greasing. It dosnt have a hour meter but i would think it has a few thousand hours on it. There only about 2000 bucks new so 1400 is a bit rediculous. 800-900 bucks sounds a but more reasonable!

I purchased a used Scag 36" that was the same age and condition as what you describe for $875. I also got the velke and grass gobbler (bagger) with it....

FWIW

The machine you describe has very low warranty incidences.

The 36 deck has been reported as one of the best cutting decks out there.

I would sell that machine to my relatives.

Not for that much money though.

Suggestion: $800.00 as your counter offer (cash in pocket works well).
