I bought an stihl with a 16" bar and love it. It's great for light trimming and small tree removal.

Poulan.....just kidding, I think echo is good, but I don't think anything is as good as a Stihl.

We have approx. 12 Husquvarna's and they are fantasic... I also have a german model climbers saw, that is more powerful than any of them.. it has a turbo in it they tell me...

husky 350 or the rancher.

Good thing about those models is even Lowes carries parts, bars, and chains for them.

I agree with the Husky 350 vote.....tough saw, easy to crank.

I run a 290 stihl right now, But i'm thinking of switching to a 260 pro. I only do fallen tree work I don't bring them down.

Stihl by far for quality, but I've got both. If you are going to do any climbing with it, or doing any 'one handed' trimming, definately get a top handle. My echo has the top handle, and my stihl has a rear handle, they both weigh about the same, but I can control the Echo better when using it with one hand. The Stihl with the rear handle gives me a lot more down pressure for two handed cutting, and is more forgiving on my wrist when doing a lot of cutting. my two cents.

Thanks for all your input.
I bought a MS250-16" Stihl.
I will only be using it for small prodjects like trimming branches/limbs from the ground. My dealer said that thats the one he has at his house and its great for what I was wanting one for. I have a Echo trimmer and a blower and wanted to try a stihl out.

I like stihl the best because I have one since 1985 and one from 1999. The engine is still fine for the 1985 model the metal stud that holds the bar is worn so I need to replace it but I got a good value for the money.

Love my STIHL MS250 with 16" bar........perfect mid duty. Not homeowner, not lumber jack, just right.
