11 yds red mulch .... 32.00/yd

I also told them we would turn all exhisting mulch in areas where mulch is being applied. Beds are mainly around a 3000 sq ft house. Lot is small - around 1-4 acre. Material will be dumped in driveway and wheel'd to areas. I approximated 8 man hours.

What would you have charged her?

we have a premium and a cheaper alternative the dye isn't that great. edging is good up here for us.

What I wanna know is at 60 a yard how much of that is money in your pocket after all expeses.

Red, Black and Brown cost me $19.00/yd. Charge $70.00/yd installed here (includes pre-emerge and weeding). We are $10.00 more than others but you have to develop a reputation for good service. We are covered up with mulching right now.

I havent seen the landscape, but I have a hard time beleiving you need 11 yards of mulch. That will fill my 18 foot landscape trailer up twice. Just sounds like alot to me. But I would charge 65 yrd installed and about 100 for edging And cleanup. Its only about 70 wheelbarrows full. Good Luck!

I double the price. I get mulch from $18-25/ yard. I AT LEAST double that price for delivered and installed. That is about normal to high in my area.

I believe you about the amount of mulch. I've got a mulch job pending in a neighborhood that is 55 yards and 300 bales of straw.

I am THINKING 58 a yard installed for a 32 yard job. I am also bidding a $450 cleanup at this place. My price on mulch is $29 unless I get a discount for 32 yards? Not sure yet. Is this to low ($58 per yard installed)?
If I can get this done in a day and paying 2 helpers I can walk away with $580 minus overhead for that job.

Around flint i think $60-$65 per yard is all you will get. Maybe a little more because its red. That mulch price seems high try Osmuns on Hill rd.
Make some calls for that mulch I just called bedrock and asked for a Hardwood price and was told $23 per yd picked up. When i told her i need 300yds it droped to 14.95 including delivery

Thanks for the help.

The job is located in Flushing actually. I dont know if that makes a difference. What are you all getting per yard in Fenton?

Im getting 32.00 at Donaldson's in Flushing. Grand Blanc cement was 30, but its out of the way. Ill give Osmands a call and see what they say.

how do you all come up with the yard "installed" figure?

example: cost of mulch + overhead? not sure how you come up with that?

Yes!

+Cost of mulch
+Transportation (yours or supplier's transportation cost)
+Number of hours it takes to install the mulch (distance from mulch and flower beds make a difference, as you will have to wheelbarrow it to a greater distance, looks at the obstacles, how thick the shrubs are, and all those variables that affect time)

Mulch installation is also labor intensive, so the cost per hour of labor can differentiate from just mowing jobs.

On my account, it comes to an average of $80 with mulch, transportation, and labor. Some companies require a minimum number of yards.
