Iíve bid $400 on this beat up looking 1994 Bunton hydro 36Ē wb Model -BHT14KW, on Ebay that ends in 20 hrs, and am trying to find out replacement prices on major parts.

The Bunton part number for the wheel motors is PL6105. the replacement cost is $560+ each for the Ross motor. The aftermarket catalogue lists this and another wheel motor that is only $266(White RS), but it replaces a different original part number- PL6012 (perhaps for a different model or year). Can anyone tell me if these two are or might be interchangeable? The pump is the same for both. Thanks.

You must be looking at J-thomas. Call them and find out. But if your planning on changing out the wheel motors for 266 plus tax on an old machine - you might look for a better machine?

I spent my big money on a newer ZTR this winter and am hoping to get into a 36 hydro walkbehind for trim and back yards for under $500 with this mower. I think everything is still working on it, just the metal plating there in back needs straightened and reinforced. I went to look at it and tried to get it started so I could test out the engine and hydros, but what with ice in the fuel filter and a ring of ice in the carb bowl, and perhaps condensation even in the engine oil from sitting for a year I couldn’t get it started that day. But I still get the impression that with a more thorough oil and fluid change etc it may all work, and the mower could still have 5 or 10 years life in it. If it does need a wheel motor, I just would like to know if I could fit the cheaper one on it.

If I were you I would keep looking. If it started up and ran then you know what you have - kinda? Without it running you must question everything. Run away fast!
