I have a customer who cut her St. Augustine grass super low, right after she contacted us to take care of her lawn. Its been 4 weeks, and all that has grown are several weeds. Anybody got any idea of what it can be done to get the grass growing again? I outsourced the fertilizing, but it is still now working.

my experance with St. Augustine grass is that it allways comes back...

those runners should take off like mad when we get into full growing season.

most of the time we would scalp it... it's good for the root system.

how low did she cut it ? to the dirt ?

Here in Florida, If she cut it real low, its probably gone... keep watering it and pray it comes back.. If not it will ne to be re sodded

Exactly, at this time of year, St. Augustine Grass should be "taken off like mad" in Florida. The Lawn Care company that I subbed to do the fertilizing did not recommend to fertilize again in such a short period of time. I thought about aerating the lawn, so maybe the cores coming out can protect the grass from the blasting sun, but I am afraid that it will do even more damage to the turf.

We are schedule to do a clean-up at this customer's property this weekend, maybe I can snap some pictures and post it.
