I have a backyard that is approx 3000 sq ft. About 20 ft from the back of the house out is clay pack. When the homeowner bought the house they had a grading problem and water in the basement so a contractor regraded around the perimeter of the house. The rest of the yard is in rough shape. It is very bumpy rough terrain and the owner stated that the neighbors told him it was a weed bed in the summer. I have suggested regrading and soding the back yard. He also wants a quote for seeding it. My question about the seeding is that could I just dethatch it and then slit seed with a renovator or am I going to have some probs with the rough terrain still. I am thinking regrading and sodding is the best way to go. Thanks.
