I was at my local Stihl dealer today looking at edgers and trimmers and he also sells bobcat mowers. I looked at the ZT-219 48". I can't find any where about the blade tip speed or how they cut. They are about the same amount the deere is $6,300 (717A) and the bobcat is $6,500. At my full-time job the company that mows uses john deere so I know what the cut is like and after they get finished it looks like carpet. My question is which one would ya'll go with. The bobcat dealer said that he has sold a bunch of them so far but who knows. I don't here much on bobcats on here much so I wanted to know which one is better than the other.

It seems to me that you have more experience with john deere, and it sounds like you like the way they cut, so I would get the john deere. But in regards to your question, I'm really not too sure about the bobcat's.

Bobcats are AWSOME. Im surprised the JD is the same price. Here their up to $2000 more. I love my bobcats, tough as tanks, great stripers and the ZT-219 is great on fuel with plenty of power.

I would go with John Deere. As you can see, that is all I own and will own. You cant beat the cut quality IMO. I will say, their are better mowers for striping if thats what your after, but the Deere Striping Kit solves that problem for about $300.:waving:
