I'll be purchasing a new slit seeder this year, and I narrowed it down to two machines. The Revitalizer and Renovator. I've only seen videos and reviews, but I havent seen or used either machines before. They are both priced the same. Which one should i purchase?

The Lesco unit is okay but is more complicated and repair prone. My local Lesco guys don't recommend it. I just got a Revitalizer and though I only bought the smaller model, it is very solid and Lawn Solutions has been great to work with. I have seen this unit run at GIE last year and it was very impressive.
Renovator does a good job but it's very slow.

I own a renovator it does good i have had zero problems easy to run a steer, i have never ran a revitalizer so i can not say i spoke to them on the phone they seem willing to help so you know if you have a problem they are there.

Owned one of the original renovators and just bought a new one this year. Very few problems. Haven't used the new one yet but like the improvements they've made. Sold my old one for 900! It's at least 15 years old.

We have 2 of the Lesco's and my only complaint would be about the cutter blades life and cost..
$94.00 per set bend over..
Well built not fast but thorough units,
The revitalizers blades look different but not sure how they would hold up???

With what ive been reading on this site, it seems that the revitalizer is the best bet overall. Better controls, less problems, easier to repair. There are two models available right now, a 20" 6hp or a 20" 8hp. I live in the city, where every home is a development where the lots were cleared out, clay brought in, then top soil. The only thing the machine will run into is maybe a tree root. Would a 6hp model be enought?
