What size dump truck will I need to haul around 5 ton?

Probably around a 26,000 lb GVW truck.

To legally haul 5 ton your going to need a minimum F-650 Ford or 6500 Chev or a 4400 International. A F-550 or 5500 may haul 5 ton but its not legal.

I don't know what you would need to legally haul that, I know that back before DOT got serious, whatever the hoist on the old 1 ton chevy's could pick up is what we would haul. This was at least 5 tons, but you probably want to haul it legally, so the 350's/450's are out of the question i would imagine.

Lol funny you would say that, a few weeks ago i hauled several 6ton loads in my old K-30 GMC, hauled it like a champ.

But to be legal He is gonna need like a 6500 topkick or something.

my 3500 gmc hauls five ton but im sure its not legal but it cann haul and dump fine and its an electric hoist
