My Lesco dealer recommended the liquid momentum to deal with my broadleaf problem. At $60 a gallon that is a bit steep for me. I realize that gallon would probably last me a very very long time but it's still a lot of money. Are there cheaper but as effective alternative or should I just shell out the money?

He did say that I could get in a granular form for $30 but I recall reading somewhere that the granuals are not as effective as the liquid. Any suggestions?

Man, there is alot cheaper. a standard 24d, and a personal favorite is Triplet. I got a jug of triplet 2 1/2 gallons for $58.00 at the co-op.

Three-way, Triplet, Trimec, etc. would save you some money. Momentum is a better herbicide IMO. 2,4-D will only give mediocre results on many weeds.
I also like Eliminate, but costs about the same as Momentum.

If you only need one small jug, why not get the better product?

Is there anywhere else I can get it. My co-op is not close.

Are the granuals just as effective?

Nope... Try some Weed-B-Gone concentrate.

Won't that kill my grass?

are you putting this on customers lawns or your own? if you are applying it on customer's lawns and don't know what weed b gone is then i'm scared.

like the others said stick to liquid, 3 way, trimec, triplet. and if it is your own lawn and you are just spot treating go get the weed b gone from lowe's...it is a selective herbicide just like the others.

Sorry I had a brain fart and was thinking about Round Up. Does Lesco carry 3-way, trimec, or triplet. If not where else can I get it?

Still here, Yes Lesco will have those. But, most of their chems are in gallon or larger jugs. Some of the better one are sold in dissoluble packets.
If you have a co-op or a real good farming feed store close by, you may get the smaller versions there. Don't know for sure, but I'd bet they'd have something for the broadleaf weeds that you need.

LESCO and all other suppliers offer an amine 3-way. Amines will kill "easy-to-kill" broadleaf weeds. "Chaser" from UAP will kill "hard-to-kill" broadleaf weeds, and it is actually less stressful to turf. $50/gallon. PBI gordon offers "Speedzone" -- basically the same as Chaser, but costs more.

Bottom line: regarding hard-to-kill broadleafs, you need an ester formulation. Chaser, Speedzone, etc. Not sure, but I think LESCO offers ester herbicides too.

Good luck.

Original Momentum is Nufarm's Millennium.

Momentum FX2 is essentially Nufarm's Escalade.

You should be able to find either one at competitve prices.

I just went with the liquid momentum FX because I did feel like running around. I've been told 1 oz per gallon but he said 1.5 oz per gallon. Which one?
