Spark Arrestor

Any ideas on how to break out a spark arrestor in a sealed muffler on a two-stroke? Will trying to somehow poke a hole in it thru the exhaust port work or will any pieces cause a problem.

A dolmar backpack blower. The muffler is a sealed unit which cannot be opened.

:blob2: Clamp the muffler in a vise and heat the muffler with a propane torch until cherry red. Heat hardens the carbon and oil and can be tapped or blown out with with compressed air. After it has cooled of course!:blob2:
