Hey there, I was wondering if anyone uses a walk behind plow to pull poly pipe. I'm interested in picking one up. I've priced the ditch witch 100sx. The quote for a new one was $9500 Canadian. Has anybody tried out the Vermeer sp11/15? or know how the price for one? I havent got a price for this machine but it looks very appealing.

For nine grand, you could get a good used machine with more capability.

I can't my Vermeer dealer to call me back. Stopped me from looking at them seriously. Dealer support is important.

Take a look at a UTI Wunderplow (http://www.utimachines.com/product_banner_2.swf). They are made/sold in Ontario and the people that I've talked to claim that they're a lot better than 100sx.

You can look at the used market, occasionally something does come up for sale. You will have a lot better odds of finding used if you can go into the states and bring it back.

Be careful about going too big of a machine. If you do a lot of residential lots, you could have a lot of space issues. 100sx class machines are the most common for a reason.

thanks for your replies. I've been looking into a used 255sx also, but like you said I would have to travel across the border to get one. Thing is our business is very small. 2 employees with an estimated 40 installs per season. Thats what makes me want to go with a compact version. I checked out that Wunderplow website. They look really nice. They are sending me a dvd, i can't wait to see it in action.

i cant believe you actually said that. i bet your machine is weak and totally unmanly and couldnt get a golfball thru a gardenhose if you gave it $50..
