I have ID'ed a weed I'm having a BIG problem with this year, Foxtail. Most people say, use MSMA based product. Here is my problem. THe lawn That I need to use it on is 10,000sqft with is sporacically spotted with the Foxtail. I realy need to treat the whole lawn. I'm not looking to make much profit on this. It is for one of my best customers who brings me alot of bussiness.

How do I do such a large space ? Will Deminsion from Lesco do it ?

PLEASE HELP ! ! :dizzy:

Hi, you can backpack or broadcast spray 1/4 acre of lawn.
See; http://www.weedalert.com/cgi-bin/recs_view.cgi?weed=97

Does it look like this? Foxtail.

Foxtail is similar to crabgrass. Summer annual. Seeds sprout the same time as crabgrass. It is early--maybe you have something else. How about showing us a picture?

Quackgrass, tall fescue, orchard grass or some other perennial grass are likely suspects if the problem arose early in the year. Is this a new lawn or established?

YES ! I'm sure it is Foxtail. Go to this link where I had posted a previous Pic. As I said before, I have a large lawn to deal with, 10,000sqft and need a LARGE solution...

It may be buckhorn plantain.

That is not foxtail. Foxtail germinates about the same time as crabgrass. It would not be going to seed until early august. I never find it in established lawns. The picture is a bit blurry to id it.

It's definely a grassy weed. Could be a perennial. Tall fescue, windmill grass, etc. It doesn't look like an annual grassy weed.

Crabgrass shows up before foxtail. Windmill grass appears by mid summer. Tall fescue seeds out by June. Not sure what the pic is, but I'm guessing it's a perennial grassy weed. Can't tell from the pics. Dallisgrass/tall fescue???

It may be buckhorn plantain.

Definitely NOT Buckhorn Plantain. The pictures show a grassy weed, not a broadleaf weed Nathan. Buckhorn Plantain doesn't look anything like that.

looks like the ryegrass from the seed mix that comes up for the first couple of years until the other blends of seed in the mix take over

Like one of the previous member mentioned, It's too early for Foxtail to occur. Look up Ochardgrass.

That's commonly found in the transitions blend. The seedhead on orchardgrass is rather big and can almost resemble Foxtail if it hasn't been cut in a while..

LOST PINEThat looks like volunteer barley maybe from straw, when was the grass seeded. It has a Barley, Wheat or Rye variety head.

Osprey is a product that will kill it without harming fescue.

didnt look at any pics. Just quick replied what is up now that may look like foxtail. Buckhorn Plantain is a broadleaf and I should have looked at the pic but didnt. It does very much so resemble foxtail when it is maturing Victor.

It's not foxtail. Sorry I cannot ID, but it is not foxtail. Also, I'd try and find another supplier for seed. Lesco stinks.
Dear Lesco, "What's my price today?"

Can someone give me an idea where I can get this "Osprey" product...?

This is not foxtail look at the head, it is volunteer wheat or barley out of the straw. If it is wheat Osprey will not kill it. We sprayed 450 ac. of wheat for ryegrass about a month ago with Osprey.

This is the weeds and grass Osprey will kill, it is used mainly to spray wheat for ryegrass in this area.
