Hello, I was wondering if anyone has a big tex trailer and what your experience has been with it. Are they good trailers? I am thinking about an 18 foot trailer with a side ramp. Trying to track down a dealer in my area so I can get a price. Also (I am no expert on brakes believe me) I am curious to which brakes are better over the long haul the hydraulic brakes on 1 or both axles or electric brakes. It seems the hydraulics would be better but like I said that is not my field of expertise thats for sure. Thanks for the help!

I've had a 16ft big tex 10k equipment trailer for about a year now. I've put 10k miles on it and it's been a great trailer. No problems, and I've loaded to to the gills before.

They used to be the best trailer out there, I think their quality as gone done but they're still one of the better trailers out there.

look at a either performance or parker built traier they are just as good and probably cheaper they are both made about 15 miles from where we live We are on our 3rd Performance trailer in 15 yrs we had 1 made in 2005 and was not made to our specs and so they bought it back from us and built the one we have now which is a 102 wide and 24ft and 5 ft dove tail and no problems the 1st one which my dad bought was 1992 model and we had no problems out of it either we just out grew it it started out a 16 ft pipe rail and then we added a 2 ft dovetail ended up seling it for about the same price as what we gave for it new . Like I said both are good trailers

at one point we had 5 big texs, have 3 still after downsizing and have had ZERO problems knock on wood, they seem to be very well built.. only problem we had was we kept blowing tail light bulbs all the time untill we switched to leds..

I paid ~$3100 for mine OTD last year before many of the steel increases. I use mine for hauling skidsteers and the like, so I do not have any trimmer holders.

good feedback, they seem a bit on the high side as far as price goes but sound worth it.
thanks again,

Jeff

if you are looking for used....check the price of new first...I've seen ads for used ones at the same price I could buy new....there are deals out there...I bought used (3 years old) and saved over 45%.

I've had 2 over the past 20 years and have no problems other a broken weld on the gate, my fault on that one though. The last one I bought in 2000 and paid 1950.00 for it. 7' x 16' tandem with electric brakes on all 4 wheels.....hth....and it also has 3' solid sides
