View Full Version : Towing help

I have a 2000 Cherokee with 32's, 5 inches of lift with the sub frame tied and all the stuff needed to keep it aligned right. When I tow my 5 x 12 sure-trac trailer I get a front end vibration. I tried moving the ztr to the back thinking I had to much tongue weight but the trailer bucks instead. Tire inflation is fine, and lugs are tight. When loaded the trailer and equipment weigh about 2500 lbs. Thanks for any input you have.

serves you right for ruining a perfectly good jeep by lifting it

How fast are you driving when the vibration starts? wheel bearings, u-joints or tire balance?

It starts about 45mph. We just rebalanced. Wouldn't I feel a wheel bearing even without the trailer. I am getting it aligned this week but if it was way off I should feel it without the trailer shouldn't I?

Sometimes, when you take some weight off the front. hook up a trailer it will unload the front supension and any play will become more apparent, just shooting in the dark here.....

What would be the cheapest way to fix that problem. I want it done right, air bags, timbrens ?
