I'm new to the biz, I would like to know the best way to remove oil stains on asphalt. Should I burn them out with my torch or use a special product. Please respond with your answers and methods:canadaflag:

Do not use your torch:nono:
You will crystallize the tar/asphalt, making it brittle.

The best solution is to have the oil leak fixed.

Use an oil spot cleaner and a prep coat before sealing the drive.

I have used Tide or a similar detergent with good to so-so results.
The oil spot cleaner you can buy works the best.

Thanks for the reply, do you recommend any specific brand of oil spot cleaner and where can I get it?:canadaflag:

Coca-Cola and a good stiff bristle brush or broom, works well.

The best i can give with not knowing is a light brick acid.

I get mine(oil spot cleaner) from the same people I get my bulk sealer from.
They have the stuff for the prep coat (for the oil spot) also.

I would say using kitty litter first (to remove any surface oils), then follow with Tri Sodium Phospate (TSP) (allow to sit for 20 minutes) Follow with some Purple Stuff (Sodium Hydroxide, aka Caustic Soda, aka Lye in liquid form).
