Removing dirt from grass surface....

Recently added some drainage to my back yard. Dug the trench with a machine, placing the dirt to one side of the trench, on top of grass.

Now hauling the dirt to another part of my yard, I can only get so close to the grass itself with a spade or xfer shovel.

My question is if there is something (powered or by hand) that would help clear the remaining dirt off of the grass surface. Id prefer not to damage the existing grass, but a little damage never hurt anyone. I was thinking a bow rake might work a little, but I havent tried it (dont have a bow rake currently).

I've used a bow rake, although it tends to tear the sod if you aren't careful.

If the area isn't too large, a shop vac will work.

bow rake.. then hose it down and beat the extra soil in.

I would just rake the area then as long as grass is exposed, let it do its thing. A little extra dirt never hurt a lawn.
