View Full Version : TWOTORO's IS NO BULL!

I had to see it for myself, and I have!!

Now, I'm not saying that I would ever do this, ever, because I still don't see how it can be more productive than a walkbehind mower, and I don't know how good it could look when its done, but it was cool to watch.

I have video footage of 2 guys using 4 lawnmowers!

I'm going to try to put the footage up on my website somewhere, if I can't I'll send it to Eric to try.

I want to know if this is a popular thing I missed out on as a kid?? Never saw this in my neck of the woods, but these guys seem to think its pretty popular.

I uploaded one of the video's to my webpage under files and video's. You guys gotta check this out! I guess he proved me wrong!

I'm still laughing along with my wife!!

I'm getting the same error message as Lonestar is. :(

BTW Dave, I was looking at your thread title, "Two Toros is no Bull"
That would be two Bulls. :D

That's funny! If it does not load keep hitting the refresh button until it opens.

 I never saw anything like that, either. I thought TwoToros had them held together with a frame or something. But no, he means literally pushing two Toros. Amazing!

Guido

I had to hit refresh twice to get it. Its better than nothing I guess!

No ones pushing anything, those are obviously self-propelled. The grass turns out as good as the quality of turf. Most guys have switched to 36'ers or bigger. Problem here is lawn sizes are on the smaller sizes. Two mowers helps knock out an average of two an hour by myself. I have had two but am in between mid-sizes so am using my two toros. I feel naked with just one since I have used two for at least ten years. When I started it was like a 50%+ raise in wages. A lot of guys in town can do this and when the first ones started we heard that someone in Cali thunk it up. My friend in the mpg (the older one) is 62 and does 80 a week by himself in 50 hours ( he is a solo now). His employee back in 88 was the first to do it and trained the others and it took off from there. The first time I tried it I was all over. I put them in first and went slow and soon got the hang. At first I kept the mowers closer together but now we usually leave about an 18" strip in the middle. The way I describe it is that one mower is just along for the ride and that I mainly focas on one. Must be good for the left and right brain thing.

What more can I say but this has to be one of the bigger scrub things you have seen!!!!

I didn't see anything at all.

I'm still working on it. Now it says I need a plug in, so I am downloading all the updates I can get. Maybe this will help.

I might just have to give up and take your word for this. I would still like to see it though. ;)

I don't know any scrubs that could handle the technique or the workload. That's really an art, twotoros. If I was wearing a hat, it would be off to you :p

Eric, I got it to play on Windows Media Player. Then Guido said it worked better on Real Player, so I downloaded that and it says it need additional software to play the file. But the software's not available!

I tryed an old Win Media Player and I got to see this.

That is unreal Two Toros. I have a hard enough time running behind my ONE run behind. :)

8???

WMP or WM Video? 7.1 is the newest unless there is a beta version out there which would explain the problem.

I was referring to Real Player 8 Alan. Sorry, I guess I thought that is what you was talking about too.

It was a long hard battle to get to see this mpg file, but it was well worth it. :)

That looked cool.

I had to call Matt in from outside to check it out.
Surprisingly, I was able to view it on the first try without any problems :)

When I click the files and video's link I get a "please sign in" page.

That was one amazing video. Never seen anything like that around here.

Alanky- you have to register with MSN to view the video. It is fairly simple and takes just a second. The registration button is just below were it says to sign in. After that you can view the file.

I know there are some problems with the MSN servers (what else is new) so those of you who still can't get to see it, e-mail me @ guido@pjsnet.com and I'll send it out. I sent it to everyone that asked so far so if you didn't get it, e-mail me again.

Jeffyr, yours (excite address) got kicked back twice so I gave up. E-mail me again with a different address and I'll try again.

Thanks Dave....I'll check on the email address. I was able to get them on MSN. I had a pref turned off in the QT control panel for accepting and translating other formats. Once I changed it it was like magic.

Thanks.....this was enlightening. I never knew Twotroros mean 2 Toros litterally.

TwoToros - why the 18" strip? When do you pick it up?

:) OK Finally got the other clips to work and see how you pick up the 18" strip. What a deal! Thanks Guido for sharing this.

Why not makes some cuts & welds on the deck & handlebars & make it a single unit?

Kinda dissapointed, didn't get to see how they turned around.

Twotoros
08-16-2001, 10:47 PM
We turn around the same as if one mower was used and you did it with one hand. Turning the two units into one would be less manuverable. They need to be independent for this to work. I know it is hard to figure it is just something you would have to do to fully understand.

Guido has the other 4 or 5 mpgs that are shorter. They may enlighten further.

Guido

of the video's on my website. You can view them the same as the first one.

IT"S BACK!!!!!!!!! AAAAAHHHHHH

Well my bud in the photo's is still do'in the two x but I have hired three guys and now drive around and look for scrubs to run over. Actully my knee is screwed up and I wait to get it fixed his summer. The guys carry two 21's and a 36". I swear I can do as much as all three by myself.

I am glad I could document this for posterity.

Wow, that is really productive looking, kinda like a flexable 42 cut at half the cost, I'm gonna try to learn to do that.

Ok, maybe I am blind, or else it is so far past my bed time, I can't find the pics you guys are talking about. This I have got to see. Is there a link that will take me direct to the pics. I looked all thru the photos on Guido's web site.

Thank you

Look on the first page of the postings in this thread. Guido posted the link, I tried copying and pasting it, but for some odd reason it wouldn't load doing that....it's the 4th post down from the beginning. Click on the larger file, yet they all contain footage of twotoros in action. You may need to click refresh sometimes as it can be stubburn.

I have three lawns that my 48 will not fit through the gate, Im now considering adding another 21" lawnboy to increase my time. I can't justify a 36" price for three lawns.

It seems wacky, but when I think about it it would be wacky not to consider it.

I believe they are both self-propelled.

There is one guy here who can operate 2-36" T-Bars at the Same Time.
