A few lesco questions,,,
Are they open to the public?
What services do they provide(repairs)?
Do you have to have permit/liscense/membership, to purchase?
How are their prices?
I know none of the above!!!!!!

I think the thing some people like about Lesco the most is the service. They offer everything you need to run your business in one place, and they're always glad to help (at least my branch was). You can buy equipment there, fert's, pesticides, seeds, etc. Equipment replacement parts, service. Sometimes they even lent out loaner machines whil your's was being repaired.
Yes you have to have a license to buy anything you should have a license to spray or apply.
Yes they are open to the public
They do most any repairs on any equipment(depending on branch maybe?)
Their prices were reasonable, especially when you add in the help you get.

1. yes.
2.sales and repairs.
3.permits and licenses are required sometimes to purchase chemicals but not to buy most fertilizers or equipment.
4.catch them during a sale and they are ok.

I called my local Lesco (in Richmond), about a month ago and requested some sample bags - I haven't seen them yet.
I'll try to call them again when I get time.

The Lesco out here in Fairlawn is great. They do repairs as well as sell and service equipment. They are extremely knowledgeable, if you have a question they can usually answer it and help you or point you into the right direction.

They are running a special on aerators too.
Not all Lesco stores do their own repair work. We have one main store that does all the Lesco repairs for the Chicago area. This can slow down repairs since they have to haul it there and then go get the machine after the repairs are made.
Does your local Lesco do warranty work on all the mowers and trimmers? Our local store does not, as they never attend any Kohler ,Briggs or Kawasaki engine service schools. They try to get some small shops to do it for them. If I spent my hard earned money for the equipment then I would expect service, and fast service. If I purchased a lesco mower and had to go down the street for service I wouldn't expect much service. Most manufacturers will not sell Mowers to any store unless they are a servicing dealer for the engine brands that are on the equipment. Lesco builds their mowers with a joint venture with the MTD company. All I'm saying is to ask questions before buying Equipment. 1 Who builds this? 2 How fast is you repair turn around? 3 How many service technicians do they have? 4 How big is the service dept? 5 How big is the parts dept. 6 Do they have computer parts lookup? ( saves you time during the busy season) 6 Is price alone what I build my business on? Tony

Most Lesco's, service shop or not, have loaners avalible when your equipment goes down. Both local dealers here in Woodstock do not. Kind of nice regardless of where the have their service work done.

The website is: http://www.lesco.com but the site doesn't give local dealers. Try your phone book. :)

I like Lesco but how long does it take for the to build a website? I was told over a year ago the new one was in the works, they must be using the same company as Great Dane!

To find a local Lesco call 1-800-321-5325 and give them your area code. If there isn't one in your area, ask for a catalog (they have many; be specific or all you'll get is a flyer).

Ray,
Doesn't matter the company, but quite a problem with any company with a web presence. They want to be like the Jones next door, but never want to put the development money or time required to set up a site.
