Sales Commission?

Anyone using sales people? I know the large commercial co's do but what about the smaller owner/operators? If so, how do you pay them? One time fee? Percentage? etc. How about encouraging your employees to seek out customers? How do you pay them? Hourly + a bonus for signed customers? I have my ideas but want to be in line with the rest of the industry if there's any sort of standard.

never done that.... But anyone who works for me, If they bring in a weekly or biweekly customer, they get the first cut's pay.....

If it's a 200.00 cut.....100 % goes to the employee who brought home the contract..... I get a lot of parents and grandparents this way.
