I did a landscape job two weeks ago. put in some annuals in four different beds. went to check out my work and alot of the plants I had installed were gone. Stumped!!! Looks like some kind of animal had been digging in fresh mulch, there was even mulch dug out around the trees that line the yard. does anyone have any idea what might have happened to my work?

Most likely squirrels - look around , especially under nearby trees , for the root balls. Rabbit or deer would eat foliage , but not pull up the whole plant. I once had a yellow lab that pulled up and destroyed flowers and shrubs that I had planted .....

armidillos will root in mulch and deer can be a plant thief if they were not rooted yet
