Wayne, go to their website and sign up as a dealer. It costs $20 per year. You can save some bucks if you use enough product..............Lynn

I went to the web site and did a search of dealers in area, found a couple, and bought the oil. I am very pleased with it, ONE MIX for everything!!!!!!:D

Beware using Amsoil voids your warranty on new equipment!
I would be interested in how the machines are holding up for you long term, heavy Amsoil users. Are you mixing 100-1 or heavier?
Thanks for your time to respond!

WHOA!.... Where did you get that piece of information? Why would a mfg. void the warranty for using Amsoil? I don't use Amsoil, but only because of the cost and availability. I like to be able to get my supplies local. It is probably the best lubricant on the market right now. If it were a little less expensive I would put it into everything I own including my PSD truck and all my lawn equipment. Please explain the warranty fact.
Thanks, Cleve.

When I bought a new Shindawa EB240 from a local dealer, he advised me my warranty was void if I used the Amsoil in it! Back to two mixtures. I bought his oil and started using it in my blowers, trimmers, and edger.

I have been using a 2-cycle oil called Opti-oil. It is also a one mix. I have been using it for about 2 years now and have not had one problem. I like it because it smokes a lot less, there is no confusion on the part of employees as to which mix to use in which machine. I also like it because if you use it the company, (Opti) would double the warranty. I do not know if this is still the case but I like the oil so much that i don't want to go back. It is also less expensive than Amsoil.
I have not had to replace one sparkplug or even put an engine in the shop since I started using the oil......that I think is amazing.

I've run Amsoil 100:1 for over 8 years without any problems. I'd like to see a company try to void the warranty because of my choice in oil. I know Shindaiwa offers to "extend" the 90 day warranty to 1 year if you buy a case of Shindaiwa oil, but I have passsed on that to use Amsoil right away.

I've been using it for 5 years in all 2-cycle at 100:1 with NO PROBLEMS.

The dealer obviously wants you to be buying his oil, looks like his heavy handed approach worked.
I'm on my third year with Amsoil 2-stroke and I don't think I've changed a plug since I started using it. One mix for everything and I run it right from the first tank on new stuff.

What a con! If my dealer told me that, I would walk out and go down the road to his competitor. Did he also tell you if you dont use only his type of trimmer line the warrenty is void as well? Sounds like something he might tell you next!

My dealer told me a story of a guy who bought all his saws from him and he bought back one that blew up. The dealer thought nothing of it because the guy always bought Husky XP oil. So they sent it to Husky to find out what went wrong. The people at Husky told the dealer the guy was running Amsoil and they would not warranty the saw. The guy said he was running it because he was now a dealer for Amsoil and wanted to use the product to save some money. So what do you think went wrong in his case?

Sounds to me like Husqvarna was looking for a scapegoat. I seriously doubt if the amsoil oil was the problem. It could have been mixed wrong or any number of possible causes. They simply didn't want to warranty the product. MHO...........Lynn

Morturf ( and any others interested)
Opti-2, 2-cycle oil does not double your warranty, and if your dealer told you that, he was mis-informed, or mistaken.
Interlube International who mfgrs that product, hoever does offer Double Engine Warranty on their Opti-4 , 4-cycle oils. In other words if you buy a new piece of 4-cycle equipment, and use Opti-4, they will double the OEM engine warranty, regardless of brand or model.
As for voiding a warranty, if you use any specific oil (2 or 4 cycle) the manufacturers usually specify that the oil used must meet certain specifications. Sometimes the wording in their warranty statements leads one to believe that you must use "their" brand of oil, but it is not the case.
Hope that clears it up for you.

I have been running the Amsoil 100: 1 in all of my 2 cycle equip for about 3 years now. Have no problems .. most of my 2 cycle equip is approx 5 years old now and I have no issues whatsoever with them. All start quickly, usually on the first pull, no smoke and no smell... Less plug fouling.. more power. A friend of mine got me signed up as dealer and have been using it in everything from the mowers to the trucks and the 2 cycle.. It's convient and extends drain intervals about 3 to 4 times over conventional oil so it saves you money in the long run. Amsoil can usually drop ship it directly to you if you don't have a stocking dealer nearby, or a dealer can sent it to you .. Check out the web site ..
about the warranties... even if you use what they specify they come up with another reason not to warranty it...

ok! I feel Had!(by the dealer) I've read all your posts + the one with Bob Riley. Guys, I trust you and I am convinced on the oil issue.
I will continue to use Amsoil 100:1 in my Toros and change my small equipment to Amsoil 100:1 as soon as the petro product is depleted. Again, thanks for you experience and wisdom.
I really appreciate this site and your willingness to share!
you can use any oil you want,in the shindaiwa case the dealer is right, did you read the warrenty card where you sign it about the oil,it reads you will get an extended warrenty by using shindaiwa
oil Its not the dealers decission wether it will be covered under failure, its up to the dist, and or the manufactuer, and yes if they do a dye test and determine its not there oil the warrenty can be denied,
