Anyone have any experience with the new 6.4 litre diesel from ford. Want to know how you like it and if it is noticeably harder on fuel than the 6.0 litre. It probably won't affect my purchase decision but would like to hear any comments on it.

I heard the 6.4 is harder on fuel over the 6.0 but I haven't driven a 6.4 yet there are only a few around. I'am not so sure about this twin turbo set up and the problems of if you need to do any work on the engine the body has to come off.

My 03 6.0 gets better fuel mileage than my 7.3 and the truck weighs 1000lbs more than my previous F-450.

It should be harder on fuel, not because of increased size (liters) but because it is equipped with lots of additional emissions equipment for exhaust aftertreatment. ... plus it takes some diesel to have a bbq at your tailpipe lol
