Hi Naughty,

Chlorothalonil (Daconil Weather Stik) For Rhizospharea Needlecast.

1st spray when new growth is 1.5" long. 2nd spray when new growth is 3" long.

Also limb up tree a foot or so from the ground to improve air circulation.

Tscape,

Did the Banner Maxx work for you? RN is not on that product label.

i priced mancozeb one time, gallon vs gallon - it is cheaper, but the high rate usage makes it more expensive, not to mention its so messy

We've been using Daconil for years, but we're also trying out Compass on Blue spruce trees. Needle cast seems to be one of those tree funguses that is difficult to control >> weather, air flow, site, etc. It's not a disease we guarantee complete control of. It's a tough one. Often two sprays just are not enough, but it makes the homeowner feel better. Hey -- how 'bout apple scab? Crabapples are all of a sudden dropping many leaves! Anthracnose too. Looks like a "disease season" rather than an insect season so far in IA.
