I'm looking for a liquid insecticide to use on my lawn, shrubs, and to create a perimeter around my house. It was also be great to be safe enough to use inside around children and pets.

I have not tried talstar. Is safe for indoor use and what are the generic forms?

read the label on talstar. It is a spot treatment and crack and crevice insecticide only.

for indoor use that is. Cynoff is a good alternative for in and out and you can get it in wp or ec formulations.

We like "Crosscheck" from LESCO. "Check" it out. LOL Fleas, ticks, mosquitos, gnats, springtails, ants, chiggers, clover mites, and many more.

Americanlawn, thanks for your recommendation on Crosscheck on a previous post. I actually decided to go with the granuals and now regret not getting the liquid. Well I guess I'm going back to Lesco for the liquid version. Anyone know what their smallest size is and how much? I checked the website and the smallest size I saw was 96 oz for $130. If that's the case I'll need an alternative.

I'll also check out Cynoff. Thanks!!!

oh man, lesco has a way with pricing, you can probably get the 96 oz bottle much cheaper when you go in, right now i pay $88 for it, some pay less, some pay much more, they have many different levels of pricing from what i have seen and heard

Are Bifen and Talstar safe for indoor use around kids and pets?

i know this was a 'all purpose insecticide' thread, but you also need to consider using an insecticide that targets the 'pest' not the benificial's

Why would you want to kill beneficial insects?
As far as I am concerned there is NO pesticide that is safe for children and pets.
None.

read the label on talstar. It is a spot treatment and crack and crevice insecticide only.

It's not limited to C&C and spot .
Please , read the label again .
It can be used for T&O , termites and general pest control .

I believe it is safe with kids & pets , if used correctly

I use it every day I work

Another good chemical for all around use inside and out is Tempo SC Ultra. Many different used, great knockdown, good residual. A little expensive but it is very concentrate. Just my 2 cents......

I thought "talstar" was restricted use? I assume crosscheck will eventually become restricted use?

$88 for 96oz is not that bad. I pay $100 for a gallon jug. I think lesco sells Crosscheck in the pints

Other generic Bifenthrin products are selling for $60/gallon. Shop around or get hosed.

Hi,
Check the LD 50. See link: http://ohioline.osu.edu/l187/l187_20.html
bifenthrin is a little hot for indoor use, IMHO.

YO

IMHO there is no one all around pesticide that you could OR SHOULD be used for everything. It is like Fertilizer Blends in the fact you must use different blends for different plants and soil.
