I figured I would post some pics of some of my equipment. I picked up my new 757 60" MOD on Monday and thought I would snap a few pics. We were trimming 700 shrubs on Thursday so got some pics of the 425AWS bagging up the clippings. Also, I drove past the guys working the other day so got a pic of the 997 sitting on the trailer. I have to resize that pic yet. I will add more pics when my X720 comes in. Sorry about the quality, they were taken with my phone.

I drove the 757 we have at work today for about 7 hours. I like it. A little slower than the Scags that I'm used to, but it handles a lot better and make a better cut.

I love my 737 and 757. I dont care for the mulch on demand feature but oh well. I only got to use the X720 for about 45 minutes because its so dry here but that thing stripes better stock then the Ztraks and the cut is exactly the same!:)

To be completely honest, the only reason I bought it was the dealer had it on the floor for awhile and wanted it gone. I got it for right around $3000 less than retail. :) It doesnt cut as well as the non-MOD decks and there is no way you can cut damp, wet, or moist grass.... It wont turn out well! I would recommend a regular 7 IRON deck anyday!:usflag:

Do you mean there is no way you can cut damp, wet, or moist grass in mulch mode or at anytime with the MOD deck? I am looking at Deere's Green Fleet and was considering one MOD deck for yards with a lot of garden areas. But if the MOD deck does poorly in wet conditions, I'd just get an OCDC. Thanks.

Congrads on your new X720 w/7 Iron purchase. I myself have a 7 Iron but not on a X-Series. I modified it to fit on my 2305. I put this deck on my 2305 in late march. Recieved the first shipment of these new rare decks which were shipped this march.
There were a few bugs. Idler pulley hitting PTO bracket (weld). The deck cutting performace will perform like all 7 Irons with a BTS of 16,500.
A few things I am not completely satisfied with are:
1: The shields which help the deck lift arm lock in the the rear deck brackets are rubbing the belt (no clearence, however after 50 hours of use the metal wears smooth and wearing out the belt stopped).
2: Debri clutters around the deck spindals (rocks, grass and etc). Wish Deere would have made the spindal housing solid on top.
AND NUMBER 3:
First i will say I owened a 455 for 3 mowing seasons and put on 1800 plus hours on this machine with no prblems at all with the 60" yellow deck. Well I got rid of the right anti-scalp caster wheel and replaced it with and ideantical set-up as the left front anti-scalping roller. Anywho, that yellow deck was a Tank. Replace 1 belt (stretched, lost tension) and 2 sets of front anti-scalp rollers, NO rear anti-scalp wheels were repalced(original).
With that said, this new deck will out cut the old deck in any condiction. However the one thing that is driving me up the wall, well did, are the new design from DEERE for the quick adjustable anit-scalping wheels brackets.
They are by far the cheapest design ever(no meat to them). Sure I Understand why they designed it like they did, to allow quick changing of height and allow, the wheels to drop, so the tractors weight is on the outer edge of the deck when driven over.
I now have put a lil over 200 hours on my deck and the pins wore out at 100 hours. Like I said I fixed the problem at 100 hours. I am happy now, but not with the design of the spindal housing on top.
Again Congrads on your new purchase and let us know how this new deck works for you.

The MOD is not good at all when the grass is at all moist, damp, or wet in either form: Side discharge or mulching. Morning dew is a nightmare. I would recommend a regular 7 IRON II deck with an OCDC.:waving:

What happened with your 997?
I traded my 997, 425AWS, and 445AWS on the 757 MOD and X720. There was only a few places I used the 997 so I had to part with it. I loved it but I had to think about the best bang for the buck and with the 3 machines I have right now, we can really make some time!:clapping:

So I like the X720 because I'm still a tractor mower guy at heart.
But I'm confused with the 7-Iron and 7-Iron II jazz and how that applies to the X720. Which blade tip speed does it have on the X720?
Best I remember they took the speed from 16,500 to 18,500?

The blade tip speed is 16,500 fpm on the X720. Yes the 7 IRON II's have 18,500 and the original 16,500 fpm. To be honest, you cant tell the difference, they both are awesome.:)

I'm curious what the advantages are of having that tractor on the job for mowing? It can't be faster...

More turf friendly and more trustworthy on slopes.
Plus you can use it to tow all your implements, etc...

With the X series he can attach a loader, tiller, spreader, snowblower, pretty much anything. That's the advantage to having that piece.

Like said above, I can tow, pull, push, etc. any attachment. A loader is also an option. The X720 actually has faster ground speeds than my other two ZTraks. The tractor doesnt budge on slopes. The only problem is there isnt much room for the deck to float and if your at the right angle, the right hand side of the deck's guage wheel assembly will hit your rear tire and remove some rubber. That sucks!:dizzy: I got the X720, 60" 7 IRON deck, and the 14 Bushel PowerFlow Bagger for right around $10K I think...I will have to check for sure....there was way to many numbers bouncing around when you trade multiple machines for multiple machines:rolleyes:

I thought I would update everyone on the performance of the 7 IRON deck on the X720 tractor. We have just over 100 hours on the machine now and i'm very pleased. I was considering trading it in the spring for a 2305 w/ loader just so I could use the loader for snow and misc smaller jobs but not after using this machine for fall cleanups and leaves. I literally am able to go through piles of leaves as big as a vehicle (10' wide x 5' tall) in a matter of 2 minutes and not even fill up the bagger! This deck chops them up so small its unbelievable! The motor also is awesome; as soon as the mower starts to bog down, the engine seems like it gets a second wind and powers right though. Gotta love the electronic fuel injection! :rolleyes:This machine has proven itself very well and I dont intend on getting rid of it at all. I'm going to put a Deere snowthrower and heated cab on this machine next year. I would have to say that my only complaint after using this machine is that because of the fuel injection, it tends to use more fuel than other mowers but when it takes care of business with anything you throw at it, I can learn to deal with that!:weightlifter:

Ok sure, but the Size and Capacity of those attachments for that size ride on mower is very limited. I am a huge Deere fan and consider some of their stuff the finest made. But that ride on with its attachments is a low capacity machine for light duty compared to a skid loader with attachments. I would wear it out in 10 months and lets not forget the price tag of all those attachments.

Yes, is the loader worth the price tag for the X series? No. The tiller, snowblowers, blades, etc.? Yes. Just this weekend we had roughly 2 inches of ice depending where exactly you were. Applied over 3000 pounds of salt, and the machine that worked the best for everything was the X720 with the 54" Front Blade. :weightlifter:

The cut is great! You really should demo a ZTrak and see what you think of them. I dont know how it will cut your type of grass but its great on Kentucky Blue!

I would like to also comment on the performance of the 7 Iron II deck. I purchased a 777 with the 60 inch deck this summer. I dont have 100 hours on the machine as mentioned here but I have been very pleased. I posted some pics of the job that it did on the grass next to my shop which is not great back in the summer. The deck has cut flawless. I havent found a situation that I dont like the machine. It stays very clean and yet it leaves a nice finished look. JD has done a great job with the 7 Iron II. I have a few other machines and as they get phased out I will most likely add Deeres in there place.
On a similar note I did buy the DFS bagging system from the dealer, its a Protero unit. I wouldnt recomend this. I havent been pleased with this at all. I have had other brands in the past and this is my least favorite. The deck also doenst do as well as my bobcat deck does for collecting. The front edge of the deck is shaped in a way that allows the leaves to "blow out". I like my old bobcat with peco the best for leaves. I just ordered the 655 track vac for the deere and will fill people in on the deere and it latter.
