Just curious what some of you solo guys are bringing in every week. Also, I'm curious to how many customers you have total. Thanks

I'm solo and have about 25 weekly and 3-5 bi-weekly customers. I gross about $700 on avg I'd say ( including clean up jobs, hedge trimming, ect ) but 85% of my income is from mowing jobs.

The national average is 35,000 / year... / 50 = $700 / week.

When I was solo I netted somewhere in the vicinity of $40K/yr with two weeks off - so around $800/wk.
Since I have nine full time and three part time employees, I pay myself $1K/wk, and all my living expenses are paid by my company as part of my compensation.
Employees can be a pain at times but I am nudging $700K/yr as of right now but I have a hugely important meeting next Tuesday and should it come out alright I'll double my gross:cool2:

is that $20-25 per acre? Isnt' that awfull low, even at that many acres? ANd I thought $40/acre was cheap!

where did you come up with that statistic?

I forget, but it was a fairly official list of many careers and their averages, I believe the link was posted on LS somewhere and it could've been some source like the IRS, either way it was quite believable.

I mean no offense, but at least IMO things get a little deep here some times...

My best year I grossed 37k solo, I'm sure my winning personality doesn't help but I still find some of the loftier figures pretty hard to swallow, again I mean no offense because the high figures help me drive myself harder, but...

The job's not easy, customers continue to expect us to swallow all cost of living increases while offering the same quality service today at the same price of 30 years ago, the competition's tougher every year and there's never an end to reducing costs etc...

Maybe a few solo Lco's earn 60k / year, an average is just that and it does include the highs and the lows, but the further we stray from center, the more it ought to thin out.

I suppose the lower end might be embarrassed to admit it, or maybe some folks include their non-payments in the gross and perhaps there's some creative accounting going on as well, but...
