You guy's running doubles, what do they do to leaves? Do they really chew them up. Or does this combo not work well for fall leaves? In the past I've run Gator's on my 54" SD Walker and had good luck. Now I have a 52"SD and will be running double blades and need to know if this will work as good or better than the 54"SD with the Gator's.
Thanks Guy's & Gal's

doubles work best on leaves. Like AWM said, it shreds them into dust.

You can see on my double blade page on my website what I use for leaves. :)

I have a Lazer and am wondering, The blow out is pretty bad with doubles. Seems during fall it would be horrible with the leaves blowing all over. Not to mention it seems you would be chasing them down when they were blowing all over.

Don't get me wrong I will try them this fall. But may need goggles:D

Slow down the RPM's when doing leaves and it helps with the blowout.

When leaf time actually gets here I will take a picture of the anti-leaf blowout baffle I came up with last year and post it. Last year it reduced leaf blowout on my Exmark about 90%.

Does anyone know if I can use double blades on my Z master? I check with the dealer here and he said that only have them on Walkers. But since I have been here I have learned differently. In looking on Toro web site they don't mention using double blades.

Thanks Allyn

I don't think you will find any Mfg website mentioning using double blades. The only Mfg that I know of that makes a double blade bracket is Dixie Chopper, but you don't need a bracket to use doubles. I used doubles for about 12 years before I ever got brackets for mine.

What am I looking for here? I will try and send you a picture of my bracket. Perhaps you can determine if a double blade will work. There are three bolts. One big in the center that hold the blades to the machine and two sheer bolts. If I is use a second blade I won't have these sheer bolts. They seem to be the ones that keep the blades from moving. So the blades will hit the blades on the other side.

i had my son weld two blades togather for my lt. you will have to balance it with a grinder as mine was off pretty bad.
you would need drill for the two side holes on one of them.
by the way for some reason my exmark gets max lift out of the mulch blade.first time i used them i sucked a metal meter cover into the blades.

XALENT!!!!!!!! :D :D :D
I have the turf tracer and mulch kit, some the best money I have ever spent on equiptment. Works as good as they say. Not just a mulch plate, you need to have each blade enclosed with baffles, as on the micro mulch kit.
I tried a plate to cover discharge chute and it left a small pile of leaves. The three blades were pushing the grass, leaves to the discharge chute, but there was a plate blocking it, so it left a pile of leaves at the bottom of the chute.

R. Martin,
Please don't forget to post a pic of your anti-blow-out baffle. I sure would like to see it.:) ;) :) Thanks, ED
