In the May 2007 issue, there is an article called "Minimizing Maintenance". It talks about using clover as a ground cover. My question is what effect if any the clover would have on others plants in the same bed? Wouldn't they be choked out?

Hi MJ -- [we do business with Westheffer in your town]. Clover does not compete with most plants, and (like soybeans) it fixes nitrogen in the soil (a good thing). Some of our customers even tell us that they "don't mind the clover" so much as the other weeds. Violets too sometimes. Clover never seems to permanenetly crowd out turf either. That's my 2 cents worth. Plus.....you can always kill it later if need be.
