Ok I just bought a brand new mower today. Its a John Deere 727 ZTR 54inch 23 hp Kaw. I love it! It was time for a new mower in the fleet. I might buy a 60 inch too. Now tomorrow I got to go to the husq dealer and get a new 326lx and backpack blower.

Does it have the mulch on demand setup? I've never been a deere fan (mainly b/c local dealer SUCKS!!!!!!) but I really like the idea of mulch on demand.

No I do not have that option. My dealer service is awesome! I have tried many mowers and this is the one I really liked. I am usually not a deere fan either but they seem to be getting better.

Yes one is a 8 gal gas tank and the other is the hydro reserve tank.

Probably aren't getting to use as much because it's so darn dry around here, i was planning on buying another mower but i think I'm going to hold off because if it stays this dry it's going to be an ugly summer

Well my lawns are still very green and growing, also I needed a faster mower due to landscaping jobs.

great looking mower. ok i gotta ask, ive been wondering this for some time now. why do people put the top part of the ROPS tilted down instead of just removing the thing, is it for "looks" or is it "illeagle" to remove it? just curious.for some reason i have always thought its just for looks to tilt it down, but im probably wrong.

ROPS police? I'm sure it's not illegal.
My guess is,having the ROPS at half mast is only a preference to removing them. I have a couple props with many bradford pears,no way your mowing around them with that thing still on.:)

No I have it down most of the time like around trees but I have some properties that I faithfully use it on.

That's exactly why it's usually in the down position, to mow under trees, ect.

Nice mower!! Good Luck w/it. I have the same exact one and just to give yoy the heads up, It sucks on steep slopes going side to side, due to the 23" tires and high center of gravity. Other than that it has a great cut and is a overall good machine. In my neck of the woods JD is the only equipment I buy. I now have the 727, 757 w/ mulch on demand, 647A Quick tack, X534 w/ alot of attachments, and G15 commercial w/b.
