View Full Version : Paver walk

I have a walk that has a wide radius ( sort of like an S ) The walk is 3' wide.
Should I run straight or follow the radius and have cuts inside? Any pics of a winding walkway?

i think it depends on the paver, and how it would look either way.. lay it out and see what you think both ways..
by 'run straight', i think you mean keeping the pattern going in the same direction, rather than laying the pavers with the curve..
If that is the case, that's the way I always do it. BUT, it may depend again on the paver itself.

Yeah, its Oaks Colonade mix (tumbled) the walk is drastically like an S shape. This one is tricky,,which would look better? JUST have to try

I personally don't like serpentine walkways so I would run the pattern straight.

Three fee wide, I would be using a running bond pattern. Save yourself the cutting and the extra brick by going with this pattern.

there will still be cutting if i use a soldier coarse.

A running bond pattern is exactly that. It follows the soldier course.

Just do a sailor course.

Whats that?

Bricks running sideways = soldier course
Bricks running lenghtways = sailer course.
