Just got a quote today from State Farm, For a one-man solo operation with $1,000,000 liability including 5k in equipment is $1,600 a year. So I tried at $500,000 liability and it is only $100 less.

Is there anybody in the Tampa Bay area that has a better insurance premium than this? I would like at least 500k liability (preferably 1 million for commercial jobs) and very little (or no) equipment coverage with a $500 deductible.

Raise your deductible to 1k. Drop the two cycle equipment and your policy should be around 800-1000. I would go to a insurance broker.

5k is the minimum for equipment coverage w/ state farm. I'm going to contact a local broker tomorrow who I heard had better rates, but with probably much less coverage.

Try GMAC insurance, if your only doing residential currently I wouldn't get 1million in coverage. If you do get some commercials then you can call your agent and increase your limit with a phone call.

Thank You Cpel, I contacted a local GMAC agent and they got me set up with a much better rate. They said GMAC itself doesn't do my specific kind of insurance but they got me hooked up with another company that does. 1 million general liability plus the 3k for equipment that I wanted for 567 a year.

Try Five Brothers Insurance on Dale Mabry. I have all my insurance through them (home, auto, biz, life). They are brokers who can find you what you are looking for. My 2 million policy is only 1000 a year but, I have been with them for 10 years with no claims and good credit.:usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

try to see if you have a "Fed USA" in your area. Mine is $562 for the year.

i got a $2 mil policy for $741 a year. State farm quoted me at $9XX...State farm is normally really cheap as I only pay $208 per mth. on my 07 Titan (commercial policy) and an 06 EB Explorer...good luck with your find..

American General Indemnity

Oh and that's without equipment coverage. 1 mil general liability for 567 a year. Turns out they wanted alot more for equipment coverage so I said screw it because i got a homeowner rider (which might be replaced next season) and 1/2 old equipment anyway.

Check into Erie insurance as well. Nationwide also has pretty decent rates.
