I've been using a timmer/edger and i cant make a straight line worth a ****. I need to get something thats actually ment for edging. What would you guys recommend? I'm not concerned with the brand as much but the style. A stick or a w/b or what? I also want the cheapest kind that will still produce the results. Thanks in advance.

Id say an echo stick edger $200
When I started I had a craftman stick edger, worked almost as good and was about $100

The only Echo stick edger I know of that goes for 200 bucks is the PE-200 which is useless for anything but keeping established edges crisp, unless you want to be cutting through overgrowth all day. I have one, and never ever use it.
I also have a PE-311, that thing has a ton more power and will cut through almost anything. Dunno what it costs new, I got mine used off ebay for 140 bucks. I'd imagine they're 300-350 or so new.
If you want a walk behind edger(best for the job IMO), look at the Tanaka or the Brown Edgemaster with the big Honda engine. Both are very expensive though, around 800 for the Tanaka and 1100-1200 for the brown.

I use that pe-200 and works great for me, I do 30 lawns per day with it and run through fine with it, I have never used a walk behind edger and have always thought a walk behind is a waiste of time, I mean it takes me about 3-4 minutes at the most to edge all beds, sidewalks driveways etc with the cheap PE-200

Also, how much edging do you have to do?
If you you do a lot, you want to invest in a Tanaka TLE-600. A walk behind is so much more effective than a stick edger.
If you get a walk behind, I would not even bother with a stick, I would just use a trimmer.

Check out the Craftsman w/b edger. I have used one before and it works fine and goes deep. Cheap I quess, but it sucks going around tree beds. Just straight is the best.
