Hey all I have a problem with a 18 hp briggs. the motor runs at full throttle all the time.I have checked the linkage and don't find anything wrong.
I bought the mower the man I bought it from told me that he had the carb replaced and that fixed it for a short time but the started again. Another person told me it may be the internal Governor? Also when the motor first starts it has some throttle control but this is lost when operating temp is reached. Can anyone tell me what is going on with this mower?
The model numbers are 31M777 0234E1 021220ZE 00059.
This is in a Poulan PS1842ST Mower

One other question I have a echo SRM-260S runs great but it leaks fuel through the carb when I hang it on the trailer with the carb down. Is this normal? If not how do I fix it.
Thanks Bob

On the mower you can try adjusting the governor.

On the Echo, All I can tell you is that isn't normal and the carb. most likely needs a kit. I prefer working on 4 cycles....
