I have a Bobcat 48" deck mower and am having trouble getting the blades off. Is there a trick to doing this or are they just rusted on there. I have tried PB Blast and have had no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks, Kevin

Do you have an airgun??? You can always swing by my place and I could zip em off if all else fails. PM me.

Another ransomes owner.
The blades are on with a concave washer to help keep pressure on the screw head. Hit it with PB Blaster overnight and an airgun or electric torque gun. Good luck. Are you sure you are going the proper way to loosen it? (counter clock-wise when looking at the blades from under the deck side)

I use a wrench and a socket. Just lock the wrench or socket to something that won't move and push hard. I do the same with my 36 too. PB Blaster should losen it up, leave it over night like MoGreen said.

I just wanted to say thank you to all who replied to my question. I will be trying again to free them up in the morning. I am going to hit them again tonight with PB Blaster. I'll post tomorrow afternoon with my progress. Thanks again, Kevin

I prefer to use two 15/16 inch box wrenches rather than a ratchet because the torque is more directly aligned and the wrench is less likely to slip off.
I'm also a big fan of metrinch.

The PB Blaster worked. Thanks to everyone for your help. Thanks again!
