View Full Version : Wylie Sprayer and Pump

Hi everybody

I've got an old Wylie sprayer with a Briggs and Stratton engine and an FMC pump. I'm trying to find information on it so I can get it going or change around to use otherwise. I've about got the engine figured out, if I read the numbers on the cowling correctly.

After decoding the numbers, I think the engine was manufactured in 1982. The whole assembly is a typical lawn type sprayer.

The pump is labeled FMC AZ55, with one side taking a driveshaft to the engine, and the other side (strangely) a male PTO shaft. I looked on the internet and FMC looks like they manufacture pumps for the oil industry now, with little information on their old products.

What kind of pump is it, and is it strong enough to shoot 50+ feet in the air?

It's been setting in the back of the barn for 5 or 6 years now, will it need new hoses, and how much does that cost?

If there isn't enough information given, where can I find more data plates and model numbers on the actual machine?

Thanks

Kevin
