I got tired of buying a gallon of round up at a time and using their fangled applicators so I went and bought a 1 gallon sprayer and some round-up concentrate. The bottle says it can make up to 21 gallons…. But the instructions say to mix 6oz per gallon and there are only 64 oz in the bottle? What gives? How much do you guys mix per gallon?

Don't waste your money on Roundup. I buy 2.5 gallons of Glystar from a farm chemical supply for about $70 and I'm on my third year with it. It's good stuff, 2oz per gallon and kills everything.

For around the house, I mix it about 1/3 stronger than the label calls for. Otherwise it's not much more than about 80% effective.

Before anyone can give you a rate to apply, we need to know the % ai in your concentrate container, since they have many different concentrations.

BUT I would highly recommend you read the label and follow the directions! All the information is on the LABEL!

And, if you have a license, they shouldn't have issue you one!

Screw round-up... all you want is 41% glyphosate. It cost me $13 per gallon.

Yep - 3 oz. of 41 oz. per gallon is what I use. Watch the sale papers . Sometimes TSC and Orschelin will run a special on the 2-1/2 gallon size . Last one I bought including tax was about $50.00. This a generic but it is 4l%.

Add about a TBSP of liquid soap to a gallon and this will make a good surfactant (sticker).

Lawnworks,

How long does 55 gal of 41% generic roundup last you?

Lawnworks,

How long does 55 gal of 41% generic roundup last you?

It is a 30 gallon drum. I go through about 5 -7 gallons a month.

Lawnworks that is a killer supply of glyphosate. I can't find anyplace around here that I can buy that much. Around here I can buy 2 1/2 gallons for about $80.00.

Before I got this, I was buying 5 gallons of razor pro 41% on ebay for $120 shipped to my house. Not a bad deal.

If you live in an area that is agricultural try the farming spray companys for glyphosate. They will beat the socks off of the mainstream stores. They are targeting homeowners not "lawn professionals".

To the thread starter. You know if your mixture is sufficient when you taste it and it's extremely salty.

Just messin' with you, please don't do that.

Like TimTurf said, it was obvious he didn't have a license and no one needed to ask.

Pets out of area for 24 hours.
Read and follow the label instructions...against the law to do otherwise.
It is the percentage of chemical that matters -- round up is glyphosate. We can buy a 41% concentration of glyphosate, 2.5 gallons for less than $40.

I believe the company in question, Agrisupply has an outlet in Tifton. GA you can find them at Agrisupply.com. Don't apply with out proper licensing.

Tractor Supply also sells glyphosate for much less. They offer it in sizes up to barrel size.
