I am hoping to start mowing this summer and hopefully get a decent amount of clients for next year. The first thing that came to mind was insurance, I dont want to be screwed if I were to break a window or something. The thing is that Im only 15, turn 16 in August, and I dont even know if I can get insurance. How would I go about getting just liability type insurance for if I did break something? What might I expect to pay? Thanks in advance for any help.

Also do I need to have a license of some kind? How would I get that?

im from north missouri and i have a $500,000 general liability coverage and it runs me $315 per year. as far as license, to be legal you will need at least a general contractors license, wich is about $35- $50 per year.check with you nearest city hall and they will hook you up. im not sure at your age that you can get a license, but they will let you know

Thats some cheap insurance you ahve there! Wish mine was that low. I pay 789 a year for general liability, but it includes tree service as well, which raises it some. Who's your insurance company?

For me $1 million in general liability was about $250. My biggest problem was that I didn't have any credit established at the time (I'm 19). My truck and mower were in my dad's name even though I was actually the one making the payments. Everything else I bought was paid for in cash. For some reason I needed to have a good credit rating to get insurance. That still doesn't make sense to me:confused: . So my insurance is in my name as well as my dad's.
