I purchased a Toro gas trimmer last year from the 'depot. The spool head (auto feed) has been very troublesome from day one. It just doesn't feed, nearly at all.

What would be a good, trouble free replacement head, that doesn't require me to re-feed the thing after every use?

Will that work on a curved shaft Toro trimmer? http://www.toro.com/home/yardtools/gastrimmers/51930_specs.html

I've called a few local dealers, but can't get any of them on the phone..

There are many universal heads available that fit most trimmers. I'm not sure who manufactures Toro trimmers, but if you took it to a good independent power equipment dealer, they could probably fit you up, or at least order something that will fit..

And while we're on the subject. Are there any alternatives to the "Expand-it" attachments for the toro (like the edger)? They don't look nearly as well built as the Stihl attachments for the combi-drive. I tried to see if the Stihl would fit, and it doesn't.
