I bought some 3 & 5 gal. apple trees to plant on a piece of property that I hunt on.It has been very hot & dry here & I dont have a real good way to water the trees if I plant them now so I would like to wait utill fall to plant them. What can I do untill then to keep the trees alive?

If in containers place them in shade and keep watered. Bare root plant in a temporary location where you can keep watered until they go dormant this fall.

For this situation, place 3 to 5 Rain Bird Gel Packs around the plant, according to the directions. This will keep the plant watered for 90 days. Once you plant it, dump a pail of water on it to get the gel started. This stuff works great.
