I am 16 and am expanding my landscape business. This is what i have:

2000 Chevy Express Cargo Van
32" Exmark Metro Commercial Mower
RedMax EB7001 Backpack Blower
1 Hand held Blower
(2) 21" Small Mowers
Stihl Weed Eater

I currently have 10 customers with no advertising. My dad is incorporating so we can advertise and be legit. Someone wants to buy our van, but we are unsure if we should keep it for now because everything is nice inside it or if we should get a used pickup and enclosed trailer. The pickup and trailer would only cost $3,000 - $4,000 more. Should we wait to get more customers and then make the switch or make the switch now so we are ready. Please Help!!

it can be done i see a ford van around here pulling a trailer with 3 yes 3 lazers on it but a truck is way more versitile with equipment and debris and hauling stuff but make as much money as you can with what you got before you get rid of it

If you truly want to expand, get rid of the van and get a truck and trailer.

just remember that with a van and enclosed trailer, you have no ready means of hauling mulch/dirt/debris. If you plan on expanding and offering more services, the van with an open trailer may be the way to go. This is assuming you have a 1500 van. You may want to think about a used 3/4 or 1 ton truck. The increased versatility will help you, but it will be at the cost of lower gas mileage, and the cost of the truck over the van.

i have a 2500 series van with the extra suspension. its good cause i can do cleanups and rip outs in the off season and in the spring all my mulch gets thrown right in the van

Keep the van until you get enough costumers to justify it. But don't stop looking for a good truck, just keep saving up for it, and when you find a steal take it.
