I have an '01 Ranger Edge with a six in it and it tows all of my stuff like a champ, and it is awesome on gas. I even plow with it using a poly SnoWay.
You wouldn't be disappointed with the Ranger.

if you ever want to grown, dont buy a mini truck, id go with a half ton at least, a 14ft trailer should be towed with a truck not a toy

what kind of mpg do you make pearce? is it the 4.0?

Loaded I average about 18 mpg. Plenty of power. I used to have a full size Chevy but gave it up in favor of the mileage.
Contrary to what you have read here,it is not a toy. I also plow 40 plus resi's and 3 commercial lots with it. It is much better to get in and out of smaller driveways that any full size.
Iguess it all comes down to what your personal needs are. I am not sorry I gave up the full size.

thanks pearce. is your truck 4x4? my dad's old worker had a 4x4 4.0 v6 ranger and that little sucker went EVERYWHERE b/c it was so darn light!

Yup. 4 wheel drive is an absolute must if plowing and it's just plain fun to have if you aren't!!
lawnboy dan- Those Tundras are a good breed of truck also. I used to have a v8 Chevy and my Ranger out does it as well.
