hey, what would you charge to cut about 1/4 , 1/2, 3/4 and 1 acre in New York. A ruff estimate for each size would be very helpful. thanks
1/4 - 30-35
1/2 - 40-45
3/4 - 50-55
It's really dependent on your area and the terrain.

That's a realistic price schedule. Your prices may need to be adjusted for your travel time/resources to/from the property. Once you get rolling you will know what you need. There are many factors involved in setting prices.

i have my prices down pat for up to 3/4 an acre, but this lady called me and wants me to mow her lawn and its 1.25 acres and its 2 towns away, so i am trying to feel out what i should charge her

How far is 2 towns away? How bad do you need the business? If you have all the business you can handle right now throw out a high number. If you really need the business then adjust accordingly. I began to get to the point where I had all the business my one man (me) operation could handle. If someone was willing to pay a premium I found a way to work it in. Estimating is a game, win some and lose some.

his town is about 8 miles away. i am only considering the job because that is where all the major stores are like the commercial landscaping store, home depot, lowes and other stores, and i am always driving their for something stupid. now if i have to go their every week, and am able to make money, i can pick up the stuff that i usually need. i am usually going their every 10 days, so i am figuring it would be worth it and i can advertise their next year and pick up some more houses their too.
