$160 for Mowing. (126 x $1.25)
Trimming would be based on however long it took to trim based on our hourly rate additionally.
Hope this helps.
Kris
$ 120.00-130.00 per time plus trimming at $35 an hour

Depends on how bad you want it? How long will it take you to mow?
Bidding by per1000 sq/ft is not vary accurate.
You said not much trimming and easy to mow. So you have close to 2.8 acres.
1 60" ZTR = 1 hour or less for 1 person
I would shoot for $100 but you could go from $50 and up for a solo cutter

Lawngodfather,
I agree with you on everything but I am not sure what you mean by $50.00 and up for a solo cutter.
I'm a solo cutter and mayby I'm reading it wrong but there is no way in the world I would touch 2.8 acres for under 100 even using a 60"Z. I guess I do know of some guys that would but then you get what you pay for.

LAWNGODFATHER, You would shoot for $100 but start at $50? Please explain, It sounds like St. Louis is a cheap place to hire a LCO.

What are you cutting it with? around here it's $35-40 for 10,000 sq ft + under, myself I wouldn't touch it for under $200,probably bid it at $250, but then again we don't have to many 3 acre open fields either
Wow, you guys sure get a lot of money for an hour or so of worth of work. Even taking into account travel time and minimal trim time I don't come up with the amounts you've got. A 60" Z at 6 mph could have the mowing done in right at 1 hour. Are you guys really able to be getting $100 plus per hour?

If are just starting out with a 36" then as you upgrade thru the decks you will make more money. :D

i hope i answer all the questions, 1 we are from the piedmont area of n.c. 2 we will be cutting it with a 48" ztr and a 52" ztr (both great danes) the reason we cut by the sq. ft. is , to ensure higher profit margins on larger equipment. example; if we both have a property thats gonna pay a 100.00 dollars, and i mow it one week with the 48" and one of you guys comes in with a 60" mower the next week and mows the same property , you will make more money to time spent than i will this does not include overhead.

Ok it was easier to type solo than one person working alone at $50 per a man hour. Then I used that figure to say 1 hour = $50 per man hour not by acres. Still at rock bottom price you still made $25. So I gave a rock bottom price and you should go by it and up depending on how bad you need work.
BTW I wouldn't touch it for less than $100. But I do mow some lawns that easy for $80 to $90 because I mow 12 in a row. And I got them all at once.
