But I'd say 10 years mowing, Landscaping and light construction for about 6 of that and Pavements and Heavy Construction for the last 4 or so, still dabbling in grounds maintenance of course.

Started cutting my grandfathers lawn when I was 11 yrs old. Kept cutting thru the HS years so I didnt have to flip burgers and such.
Was introduced to the Landscaping aspects of the biz back in 93, and have been applying chems since 94.
At 31 I guess you could say that its in the blood. :D

This is my 25th year.
Started at 17 ... Landscape construction
Started a maintenance division 2 years ago so I am very green on the mowing , etc, which is what brought me to this site.

God it's hard to belive all this people, no offense but I don't really know how all this people who has 10+ years in business and working solo still have time to post in this forum and yet sometimes those are the ones who post the most odd questions
(For a proffesional).
If you count being in business since you did your back yard when you were a kid, than everybody has 20+ years.
Only ny 2 cents.

I agree if you're gonna count all the grandma and granpa's lawns being done. I don't think that's what was really meant when he asked for this thread. Myself, (without my grandma's, aunt's, and neighbor's house I did for hire when I was 9) have been doing this since 1982. On my own since '84. :)

Its probobly good time management and planning for profit.
If you cut the "fat" from your operation you realize you don't need to work as much as you think to make the same or more profit. No need to have a billion lawns when you can make the same profit in less time with 50 good customers.
12 years mowing. Hey TLS I see you changed your screen name when did you do that ? How about another SE Pa get-together?
